Sabira has lived by the sea in Kerala, India for 35 years. Over time, she watched plastic slowly take over her coastline. What was once clear water began carrying waste straight to her doorstep.
Sabira of Kerala, India
Before structured waste systems existed in her community, trash was burned, dumped or washed into the ocean. Today, Sabira works within the Clean Kerala hub — part of our partnership with CleanHub.
Through this hub, collection partner Green Worms Waste Management organizes door-to-door plastic collection across southern India, powered by local women’s empowerment groups. Each day, Sabira’s women-led team collects plastic before it reaches the sea, carefully sorts it, and ensures it’s properly processed through a structured recovery system.
Because of this work, Sabira now has a stable income and real future prospects. She even started her own small business and was able to pay for the repairs to her home. This is more than environmental cleanup. It’s social transformation. Sabira didn’t just witness her coastline change — she became part of the solution.
Through CleanHub, Bioelements supports Green Worms, a system founded on three core principles: minimize waste generation, divert waste from landfills + oceans, and dignify people working with waste.
This is the kind of impact your Bioelements purchase helps drive.
Since 1991, we’ve believed performance and responsibility go hand in hand. From barrier-first, biologically engineered formulas to how we approach packaging and materials, integrity isn’t layered on — it’s built in.Â
As recovery efforts continue through Clean Kerala, we’re shifting more of our packaging to glass to further reduce our plastic footprint while maintaining professional-grade results.
For us, that’s performance with integrity.
