Within the first five years of menopause, skin loses 30% of its collagen. That is a lot of structural support to lose in a short time, and it helps explain why changes that once felt gradual can suddenly seem more noticeable. Skin may look less firm, fine lines may become easier to see, and wrinkles may appear more pronounced.
Estrogen helps regulate the processes that maintain skin’s collagen.
“As estrogen levels fall during menopause, collagen loss accelerates, leaving skin with less of the support that helps it feel firm and elastic,” Beth Bialko, licensed esthetician, explains.
Changes in hydration can make the shift more visible, too. Dry lines tend to stand out when skin feels less supple. It’s a specific biological change, and it calls for skin care made with that change in mind.
Peptide architect pairs two peptides that address different parts of the picture. The first, trifluoroacetyl tripeptide-2, is a high-tech biomimetic peptide developed specifically for peri- and menopausal skin.
“Biomimetic means it is designed to work with the skin’s own biological processes,” says Beth. “Its focus is cell senescence, a process in which cells stop functioning as they once did. By helping delay senescence and promote cell longevity, it supports skin through one of the changes associated with visible aging.”
The second is sr-hydrozoan polypeptide-1, a bioidentical, vegan marine collagen peptide. It supports collagen while helping improve firmness, elasticity, and hydration. Together, the peptides take on more than one visible sign of collagen loss: skin that feels less springy, lines that stand out more, and a complexion that could use added support.
The formula also considers how skin feels day to day. Omega-rich botanical oils and the adaptogens ashwagandha and tulsi round out its barrier support, helping skin feel nourished and comfortable. And menopause does not give everyone the same skin type: peptide architect is suitable for dry, combination, oily, and sensitive skin.
After 28 days, the clinical results reflect both the feel and appearance of skin: 87% say skin feels more elastic, stronger, and supported; 93% say texture feels smoother; 89% say it reduces the appearance of dry lines; and 85% say their complexion looks more luminous.
“If your skin is starting to feel different, peptide architect offers targeted care for this stage, with support for firmness, hydration, and the skin barrier,” says Beth.
